The Construction and Evaluation of a Programed Course in Mathematics Necessary for Success in Collegiate Physical Science.
Collagan, Robert Bruce
Reported is a study of programed mathematics text usage by freshmen non-science majors having deficiencies in mathematical and reading skills. The primary problem was to develop a text that would teach the mathematics essential to the successful manipulation of quantitative problems in the physical sciences. The level of learning of the experimental group (77) students) exceeded that of the control group in both mathematics and physical science after ten weeks of instruction. (RS)
