Programs of Interest to Indians and Metis Administered by The Department of Regional Economic Expansion.
The primary objective of the report is to describe and clarify those departmental projects which help Indians and Metis move into the economic mainstream of Canadian life. More specifically, it examines programs used by Indians and Metis which are carried out in Western, Central, and Eastern Canada, under the Agricultural and Rural Development Act (ARDA); Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA); Newstart; Fund for Rural Economic Development (FRED); and Operation of the Rural Development Incentives Act (ORDIA).
