Primary school buildings of the Asian Member States of UNESCO are evaluated in this study, which is in three parts--(1) a statement of the purposes and procedures of the study, with comments and recommendations relating to the primary school situation, (2) a detailed analysis of the replies to the questionnaire which was utilized, and (3) a summary of the returns to the questionnaire. The following areas are examined--(1) administrative organizations upon which the primary schools depend, (2) location of the schools, (3) sources of funds for construction and annual expenditures, (4) materials used for construction, (5) unit cost of sites and materials for construction, and (6) estimates of future needs.
