This is the second part of a study about correctional institutions which focuses on manpower and training for criminal justice with special reference to correctional institutions. The first part of the report presents a schema for the assessment of manpower shortages and strategies. The remainder of the document analyzes the custodial staff, the diagnostic and treatment staff, the general counseling staff, and the outlook for change in corrections. Appended is information on jails and workhouses, major correctional institutions, probation and parole, law enforcement systems, colleges and universities, professional schools, and university crime and delinquency centers.
