This curriculum guide for teaching music in Vermont schools represents the combined efforts of the state department of education and music teachers throughout the state. The guide includes sections on the elementary school music curriculum, the secondary music curriculum, instrumental programs, instructional resources available to teachers, and an index to aid in correlating such areas as science or mathematics with the music curriculum. Also presented is a statement of the philosophy underlying the music curriculum, along with a discussion of the professional relationships of educators to one another and to the entire music program.
