Paragraph Writing.
Chaplen, Frank
The aim of this book is to help students of English (as a second language) to write clear, concise paragraphs. The basic requirements of good paragraph writing are discussed in detail, and illustrated with many examples. In addition, numerous exercises are provided which are designed to help students come to a fuller understanding of the facets of good paragraph writing covered in the book. A feature of the book is the writing assignments. These cover a wide range of subjects, and are graded in difficulty. Their purpose is to relieve the student of the problem of deciding what to write, and thus enable him to concentrate on the problem of how to put into practice what he has learned in the first part of the book. The accompanying teacher's edition contains, in addition to the student's material, a guide for the teacher and a key to the exercises. (Author/AMM)
