The concern of geographers regarding use of natural resources and outdoor recreation is reflected in the vast amount of research done on this topic. Cited in this document are numerous research projects, project methodology, and conclusions related to the use of natural resources. The author concludes by stating that additional empirical research is necessary. The vantage point of the geographer is necessary but the science of geography must also utilize the strengths and insights of other disciplines for the most effective study and planning of the use of our natural resources.
