The Department of Museum Education of the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the largest in the United States; its education program is divided into two parts: for children and for adults. Among adult programs carried out regularly are free weekly public talks in the presence of an art work, lectures and discussion programs for private groups, seminars for graduate students in art history, a telephone answering service for reference questions on art, and a slide subscription series.
