This report deals with preschool, kindergarten, and elementary grade efforts for disadvantaged children in Kalamazoo County, Michigan in 1966. The findings, based primarily on conferences with elementary school personnel, are presented under the headings of continuous growth concept, preventive and remedial programs, staff specialists and special services, and such pilot programs as Headstart and community schools.
