The Teacher As Behavioral Manager. Vol. III, No. 1, Abstracts of Educational Research.
Maryland State Dept. of Education, Baltimore. Div. of Research and Development.
Fifth in the series of "Abstracts of Educational Research," this issue presents 15 abstracts grouped into two broad areas: those supporting experimentally that the teacher is a behavioral manager, and those demonstrating techniques which the teacher could use as behavioral manager. The first area contains three studies which conclude that the teacher can control students because the power he possesses make him important to them. Twelve additional abstracts cover different approaches to techniques of behavioral management: reinforcement procedures, modeling, the Premack principle, and establishing values or inner controls in students.
