A Recommendation for Formats for Computer Program Catalogs.

This report is the result of a study of a set of existing and proposed catalogs of computer programs and some related material. It discusses the entries used in current catalogs and recommends a standard format usable in a comprehensive, publicly-available catalog. Illustrations of the various components of catalog entries are given. Conventions are proposed for recording in machine-readable from the various components of entries. (Author)
