Given the capacities and applications of closed-circuit instructional television and public (educational) television, the future of open-circuit (i.e., broadcast) instructional television looks bleak. Yet an analysis of the advantages of broadcast ITV leads the author to recommend that the medium remain a part of our educational system and to propose a plan for its use and support in the future.
