Summer Session and Evening Salaries in California Public Junior Colleges, Report of a 1967 Survey.

Presented in this report are data on prevailing rates of pay to junior college teachers for summer session, evening classes, and nonteaching assignments. Summer session pay by hourly rate was reported by 39 districts, by contract fees by two colleges, and as a percentage of annual salary by 16. Hourly rate basis for evening classes was reported by 52 colleges, by contract fee by one, and as a percentage of annual salary by ten. Reports showed 45 colleges including nonteaching assignments in the workload; of these, 22 did not reimburse for such assignments, 13 reimbursed on a selective basis, and eight reimbursed all teachers. Tables itemize low and high rates for each college but do not identify the college. (rt)
