OUTLINED ARE THE SURVEY PROCEDURES TO BE USED TO GATHER INFORMATION ON THE PRACTICES, PLANS, AND PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF DISADVANTAGED, MINORITY GROUP CHILDREN WITH THE AMERICAN HISTORY TAUGHT IN THE DETROIT PUBLIC SCHOOLS. GENERAL PRACTICES AS WELL AS SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS WILL BE SURVEYED. THE SURVEY PROCEDURE IS DESCRIBED IN TERMS OF THE COMPOSITION OF THE SURVEY TEAM, THE DATES AND ORGANIZATION OF THE OF THE SURVEY, AND THE SCHOOLS TO BE OBSERVED. INCLUDED IN THIS OUTLINE ARE THE INTERVIEW SCHEDULES FOR USE WITH ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL, TEACHERS, AND STUDENTS AND THE QUESTIONS TO BE USED IN EVALUATING TEXTUAL AND AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT DATA BE OBTAINED ON INNOVATIONS AND ON ACHIEVEMENT TEST SCORES.
