CONSERVING OUR NATURAL RESOURCES, A 4-H LEADER'S GUIDE.
AMICK, W. ROBERT; AND OTHERS
AN EFFECTIVE 4-H CONSERVATION PROGRAM IS DEVELOPED AROUND THE FOLLOWING BASIC CONCEPTS--(1) MAN IS A PART OF THE NATURAL WORLD, IN WHICH THERE ARE MANY VALUABLE MATERIALS, (2) MAN HAS LEARNED TO USE MANY OF THOSE MATERIALS FOR HUMAN SUSTENANCE AND BETTERMENT, AND (3) MAN'S ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND GENERAL WELFARE IS LARGELY DEPENDENT UPON THE MANNER AND EXTENT TO WHICH WE UTILIZE AND MANAGE OUR NATURAL WEALTH. IN ORDER TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION BY 4-H MEMBERS, A COMMITTEE OF FEDERAL AND STATE AGENCIES AND INDUSTRY GROUPS WAS ORGANIZED TO PREPARE THIS LEADER'S GUIDE WHICH PRESENTS FIVE SECTIONS DEALING WITH THE CONSERVATION OF SOIL, WATER, FORESTS, GRASSLANDS, AND WILDLIFE.
