LESSON PLANS WERE DEVELOPED FOR THE 1964-65 SCHOOL YEAR UNDER A PILOT PROJECT THROUGH THE COOPERATIVE EFFORT OF THE CALEXICO BOARD OF TRUSTEES, IMPERIAL COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE, CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, AND THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION. THE PLANS PROVIDED GENERAL SUGGESTIONS AND SUGGESTED DAILY LESSON PLANS FOR 21 WEEKS. THE SPECIAL PILOT PROJECT CLASSES MET AT LEAST ONE-HALF HOUR DAILY AND CLASS ENROLLMENT WAS LIMITED TO 15 PUPILS. THE AUDIO-LINGUAL APPROACH TO LEARNING WAS TO BE USED WITH EMPHASIS ON INCREASING FACILITY IN THE USE OF ORAL ENGLISH. (SF)
