A DISCUSSION OF TITLE 1 FEATURES AND SERVICES IS PRESENTED. THE LEGISLATION IS INTENDED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF ALL STUDENTS IN PRESCHOOL, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, AND SECONDARY SCHOOL, INCLUDING MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED STUDENTS. THE PROGRAMS SET UP UNDER TITLE 1 MUST BE EVALUATED ANNUALLY, AND REPORTS OF RESULTS MUST BE DISSEMINATED. THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS DEPENDS UPON THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. FUNDS HAVE BEEN APPROPRIATED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF EXISTING PROGRAMS, REMEDIAL READING PROGRAMS, DAILY LUNCHES, AND INSERVICE TEACHER EDUCATION.
