MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR APPROVAL OF GUIDANCE PROGRAMS IN SMALL HIGH SCHOOLS.

A SMALL HIGH SCHOOL IS DEFINED AS ONE WITH AN ENROLLMENT OF 150 STUDENTS OR LESS IN GRADES 7-12 OR IN GRADES 9-12. THE MINIMUM GUIDANCE PROGRAM STANDARDS FOR SMALL HIGH SCHOOLS, AS PRESCRIBED BY THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS--(1) ONE PERSON WITH A MINIMUM OF SIX SEMESTER HOURS IN GUIDANCE MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COORDINATION OF A PROGRAM OF GUIDANCE SERVICES AND GIVEN TIME TO FUNCTION EFFECTIVELY AND (2) PROVISION MUST BE MADE FOR THE THREE BASIC GUIDANCE SERVICES WHICH ARE--DEVELOPING AN INDIVIDUAL INVENTORY FOR EACH STUDENT, THE DISSEMINATION OF VOCATIONAL, SOCIAL, AND COLLEGE INFORMATION, AND THE PROVISION OF A TESTING PROGRAM.
