THERE ARE APPARENTLY TWO TYPES OF VOWEL-ZERO ALTERNATION IN THE RUSSIAN DERIVATIONAL SYSTEM--THE FIRST BEING A MORPHOPHONEME ON THE FLEXIONAL LEVEL, AND THE SECOND IN THE DERIVATIONAL BASE OR DERIVED WORD.
