INSERVICE TRAINING COURSE FOR INSTRUCTORS OF MDTA CLASSES, TEACHER'S GUIDE, 1967.
FUCHS, JOSEPH; AND OTHERS
THIS GUIDE WAS PLANNED PRIMARILY FOR USE IN THE SCHOOLS OF NEW YORK STATE TO FAMILIARIZE AN INSTRUCTOR WITH THE MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING ACT (MDTA) AND TO GIVE HIM KNOWLEDGE OF TEACHING TECHNIQUES FOR MDTA COURSES. THE EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON THE PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF THE MDTA AND THE PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF TEACHING, RATHER THAN ON DISCUSSIONS RELATING TO INTRICACIES OF THE LAW OR THEORIES OF TEACHING. THE GUIDE CONSISTS OF TWO PARTS. THE FOCUS OF PART 1 IS ON THE ACT AS IT RELATES TO THE TRAINEE, INCLUDING DISCUSSIONS OF THE DURATION OF TRAINING, THE TRAINING ALLOWANCE, AND LIMITATIONS ON THE ALLOWANCE. PART 2 PROVIDES A TOPICAL OUTLINE GEARED TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF TEACHING AN MDTA COURSE. INCLUDED IN THE APPENDIX ARE SAMPLE FORMS FOR REPORTING ON MDTA CLASSES--TRAINING CERTIFICATION, REQUESTS FOR ALLOWANCES, TRAINEE TERMINATION, EQUIPMENT PURCHASED, AND WEEKLY REPORTS. (SM)
