Using My Clipboard

ERIC provides a temporary workspace, My Clipboard, in the search results and results details pages, for managing user-selected records. My Clipboard is available to all ERIC users. Click on the clipboard icon within individual results records to add/delete items. A separate clipboard icon near the top of the page tracks how many records have been added to the clipboard workspace Clipboard icon. Select this icon to view and manage the contents of the Clipboard:

  • Link from titles to results details pages
  • Delete items from the Clipboard
  • Select a transaction

Records added to the clipboard are not permanent. To store your selections for future use, see "Save results to My ERIC", below.

Transactions
ERIC provides several transaction options:

  • Print clipboard contents
  • Email results to a colleague, or to your desktop from a library workstation
  • Export records to commercially available citation management software that supports multiple output styles
  • Save results to My ERIC - If you want to save search results from the Clipboard workspace, you must be a registered My ERIC user. You may register for My ERIC before or during a database search or Clipboard operation. Once you register and login, you may begin to save search results from the Clipboard to My Saved Folders. Features of this area include:
    • Establish up to 10 folders, and store up to 50 records in each folder
    • Print or email records, or export to a file, such as citation manager software
    • Update a folder by adding or deleting records
    • Rename or delete folders

Citation Formats and Styles
ERIC provides text format records in three basic styles for the Print, Email and Export Records functions. The email function provides the option to select HTML format.
