My ERIC Features

My ERIC was created to enhance your research goals by providing additional features that will allow you to create a personalized Web resource specific to your needs. Features currently enable you to manage your profile, save search criteria, save and manage selected search results, and submit non-journal materials for possible inclusion in ERIC.

My Profile
If you want to change your password, you may do so at any time. Your new password must have at least 8 characters. You may use upper or lower case, as well as numbers or other special characters.

If you have access to a library that provides restricted access (i.e., "members only") to electronic materials, you might be able to use ERIC's Link to My Library (Beta) feature. Check the list of participating institutions available at View/Change My Institutions. You can select up to three institutions, and modify your selections at any time. A link to WorldCat may not be included in the search results page if you use the Link to My Library (Beta) feature.

My Saved Searches
If you want to save search criteria, you must register for My ERIC. You may do so at any time - before or during a database search. Once you register and login, you may begin to save searches. Use ERIC's basic or advanced search options to create and run your search, then save it by clicking on the "save this search" link. Features of this area include:

  • Save and name up to 10 stored searches; when you select a saved search to query against the database, My ERIC will display your original search criteria.
  • Rename or delete searches.

My Saved Folders
If you want to save search results from the temporary Clipboard workspace, you must register for My ERIC [Note: using My Clipboard does NOT require registration]. You may register for My ERIC before or during a database search or Clipboard operation. Once you register and login, you may begin to save search results from the Clipboard to My Saved Folders. Features of this area include:

  • Establish up to 10 folders, and store up to 50 records in each folder
  • Print or email records, or export to a file, such as citation manager software, in text format (HTML optional for emailing)
  • Update a folder by adding or deleting records
  • Rename or delete folders

My Submissions
Through My ERIC, you can submit non-journal material (e.g., conference paper, dissertation, research report) in three easy steps via the Online Submission System. You must be the copyright owner of the contributed items. Materials submitted through the system will be included in the ERIC database if they meet the selection criteria.

If you have questions or need more information, contact the ERIC Customer Support Center via email at ericsupport@csc.com or telephone (800) 538-3742. The ERIC Customer Support Center is available to assist you from Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
